Although you may have a point about the season so far, I think the last two episodes were a return to form. I hope tonight's show and the closer in two weeks keep that going. (Well, half-closer; they keep calling the 12 episodes this spring and the 8 next spring one season). That said, Vito and his swooning aria with Jimbo and his fantastic johnny cakes has made me squirmy. I don't care what they do with each other -- live and let live -- but I don't need to witness it. Scenes of the two of them in bed, rose-scented vistas of them demounting their Harleys to kiss in green meadows, Vito practically blocking out the sun -- ick.

Maybe you're right that "The Sopranos" has jumped the shark but I prefer not to think so. When a show has been this good for this long it doesn't happen just by accident. Especially upon rewatching, you notice the Swiss watchmaker's attention to detail. David Chase has exhibited his willingness to keep us off balance before, many times. The bitching was at least this loud last season. And then he hit us with "Long Term Parking", IMO one of the best Sopranos episodes ever. I mention only in passing that it was the next to last episode in season 5.
