Hi All, I've been working with the DataSession & BufferMode form properties, and seem to be running into an environment problem. I understand several environment settings are scoped to the private data session from reading M$ KB Q129980. However, here's what's happening... In my top level program I set the environment... SET CENTURY ON SET DELETED ON SET STATUS BAR ON SET TALK OFF . . . (I know, I should OO this stuff!) If I leave buffering and data session at the defaults, the status bar does not display the database/table/record status. When I tab from field to field, I see the record status flash on the status bar then disappear. After reading M$ KB Q129980, even though the data session was NOT set to private, I added SET TALK OFF to the BeforeOpenTables event and the status bar worked. If I set buffering to optimistic and data session to private, then it doesn't matter what I do, the status bar will not display any detail except when tabbing as mentioned before. I would prefer to run my multiuser app at the latter settings, so I'm hoping someone has experienced this and can enlighten me. TIA Joe
