>>>From VFP9 Help:

>>>Maximum # of pages in a report at run time: 65534
>>>In object-assisted preview, limited by available GDI+ resources

>>>On my system, REPORTBEHAVIOR 90 object-assisted preview seems to crap out consistently at (exactly, or very close to) 5,000 pages with an error message about GDI resources exhaustion.

>>>Has anyone else hit this limit, and at what #pages?

>Thanks - that seems to explain what's going on. Although, Rick's message was pre-SP1, and as I pointed out in my reply to Naomi the SP1 bug fix list seems to include "something" about fixing a Preview bug (although it might be REPORTBEHAVIOR 80-related).

>As it happens I'm estimating the number of report pages before running the report, so if the user wants to PREVIEW something > 4000 or so I'll switch to REPORTBEHAVIOR 80. If it's over 64K pages, they'll be SOL :)

Personally I prefer Rich's Mind's Eye Report Engine Control, http://www.mindseyeinc.com/ReportEngine/index.htm, over VFP9's report engine. It's much quicker, and has a lot of cool features.
