>IMAGE control displays JPEG in VFP6 and NOT VFP8
>
>We are using the image control provided with VFP6 and VFP8. The BMP's and JPG's that are will not display when attaching to the picture property are only 100 kb in size but have an image dimension of 1678 by 1142. These same images display when attaching using VFP6, NOT when viewing through VFP8.

>When I try open this same JPG in Microsoft Paint, it gives a message saying "This image is NOT a valid bitmap file or its format is not currently supported".
This part seems to indicate there is something queer (i.e., non-standard) in the image format. How were the images created? - Or perhaps the images is just too big for some image-handling programs.

Perhaps you can find a program that is able to open the image files, and save it again.
IrfanView (freeware) is capable of transforming entire directories, from one format to another, but of course, I don't know whether it will open your (apparently) non-standard JPG.
