I've tried it already. A friend of mine did a select 0 as xxfield in a mysql frontend manager and exported the result to a dbf, and the field was numeric as it was supposed to be. So the problem must be the odbc driver. I'm currently using myodbc 3.51.11 driver. I 'll try with a newer version if exists, (and with older versions if there aren't any), and see the results...
