Thanks for the advice. Moxiedata look good, but I've no budget for this at the moment.

The General field idea looks feasible, but General fields seem to be a pretty horrible concept.

I don't seem to be able to transfer my RTF memo field contents directly into a general field. I seem to need to do:

? STRTOFILE(rtfsample.rtf,"oot.rtf")
APPEND GENERAL Grtf from "oot.rtf"

This seems bizarre. I've tried append general data, but can't seem to ge this to work directly on the string. Is there a shortcut, or is the above the only way?
