What you suggested was "delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualFoxPro\9.0 key from the registry. VFP will recreate it next time it's launched."

So I did that and it set up 3 keys below VisualFoxPro\9.0 - desktop, foonts and options and they all have values of (default).

Does that seem right?
