This is working well.
An out of process com server hosting a modeless form with a callback to my real time application.

This gives me multithreading-like capabilities as well as a way to more easily integrate my aplication with .NET components.
Debug looks to be more difficult, and I'm sure there will be the occasional trip to DLL hell, but this opens up a lot of possibilities.
