My personal guess is that Calvin got a 64-bit version of vfp running most of the features just to give a correct ballpark number for conversion estimates (and probably would have done it just for himself otherwise <g>). But a 64bit version would probably mean for every new release a much higher release test budget, since both branches must be tested.
Could you give (without breaking your NDA's) an estimate of the percentages of vfp's budget going to
- new development,
- release testing,
- bug fixing,
- managment
- marketing
and/or your estimate of the amount testing would need to grow to if a 64-bit-bracnh was added ?
