Hi,
Use terminal services.

>Several of our users do work from home using broadband. They use a Cisco VPN client to connect to our internal network, and then run a VFP app on their home PC. The app starts up fine and opens the VFP database on our W2K server at work (the DBF/FPT combo is usually quite small by most standards, maybe a few hundred Kbytes). After using the app for only a few minutes, for some reason the network connection through the VPN tunnel is apparently momentarily disrupted, even though the mapped network drive on the W2K server remains mapped for the user and accessible if he/she tries to browse its folders with Explorer. The consequence is that the VPF app becomes "disconnected" from its open DBF, and it signals a read or a write error. This happens after only a very few minutes of use, like 5 or 10. It does not seem to require much idle time, if any. It just happens. The only recovery is to exit the app (losing the data entry) and start the app over again.
>
>By the way, we have already set the "idle disconnect" time on the server using the "net config" command to negative 1 (no time limit).

>Any idea what is going on? I don't understand why the VFP file handles apparently become invalid after such a short connect time. This only happens from home with VPN, not when at work using the internal network.

>Thanks very much!
