I hope you use buffering & transactions when handling your tables.
With Buffering 5 (Optimistic table buffering) and centralised saving of all edited tables/records at once, corruption is likely to be less than if you are using unbaffered tables, row buffering etc.

This is at least my personal experience. Got only few index corruptions in almost 9 years with VFP.
