Dear Friends,

I have a basic VFP6 application with VFP as frontend & backend.

I need to convert or rewrite this application to run on an intranet. The Server will be in Head Office and Branches in 5 different cities. The number of Users will be limited as this is an internal application. The number of Branches is not going to increase in coming 5 yrs, and only 1-2 branches might increase later.

For this I want to use SQL Server 2005 as backend. Server will run a centralised Database. We have a Broadband connection @ 1 Mbps with Static IP address of the server. The Branch Offices will access the server using internet @ 512 Kbps.

I have good knowledge of SQL Pass-Through. I am already converting the VFP6 application to VFP9.

1. Can I use Fat-Client ? as Clients are limited in number and I want to convert this application with minimum effort. I may not need the application to run in a web browser (Thin-Client). Please advise. I don't want to get stuck later by using the wrong application design (Fat-Client Vs Thin-Client).

2. Can I somehow use simple forms in VFP9 which accesses Data using XML? maybe use xmlAdapter Class.

3. Is the above mentioned bandwidth sufficient for a Solution?
