I'm using COPY TO (myXLS) TYPE XL5 command to produce XLS, then I apply formatting. My SSN is a character field.

Anyway, I've changed it to pre-format the field in advance when I prepare my data.

Also if SSN is Numeric, it works, but then the data is right aligned.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
