>Cindy, the key field is a numeric field called ncode in a table called dailywork. This is linked to a similar field in a table called dailydata. Dailydata sometimes does not have a matching ncode. In such a case, the record pointer goes to the first record of the child table (dailydata), showing wrong data, instead of remaining blank.

May be you need to give it a little push, like GO TOP in ChildTable.

Also I would perefer to use views for this purpose instead of Parent/Child tables.
