This should be handled through appropriate class design. For instance, the way this is done in Visual Extend, the framework uses form methods like OnNext(), OnBottom(), etc.; each one of these methods, in turn, calls method OnRecordMove() or something similar. So, you have one central place where you can put commands that execute when the user selects a different record.
