Hi Kevin,
>Tull is unbelivable in concert. Ian Anderson is HYSTERICAL. I saw him in Hershey PA, and he made some hysterical jokes between songs. What amazed me the most about their concert is that they played Aqualung FIRST.

You should have seen him in the seventies and eighties. I considered myself quite athletic/endurant back then (more sports than programming!: easy in the seventies, hard work in the eighties <g>), but Ian was in another league. Part dervish for sure somewhere in his ancestry...

Kansas I totally missed - they were in germany always when I had no time. Still don't know how that happend. But from David's list one other band surprised me with their great live performance: Styx!
They had *everybody* captivated in Frankfurts biggest( acoustically NOT very good) concert hall, but still managed to be audibly true to their trademark of slowly opening up each song and then hammering away.

Probably my greatest surprize was Chris de Burgh: IMHO some very nice songs, but sometimes so similar that it is hard to listen to for a whole album. So I went there expecting a good but not spectacular performance. But I was VERY pleasantly proved wrong - just by picking the songs in the right order he kept the evening interesting. Don't know if I was lucky (reviews called it better than his usual perfomances) but I was certainly glad I went.

regards

thomas
