The webGUI application runs in a browser like any normal web page whereas the WTS server is a normal desktop application running on the server accessed from the WTS Client.

I suspect that the WTS cannot support as many users as a web application because each user has to run a full copy of the application on the server which requires a large amount of ram and processing power as the number of users increases. The advantage would be that you have a full desktop application with all its richness.

The webGUI advantage would be that you could access it from any supported browser without installing anything on the client workstation.
