What I'd do here is add a column to the report cursor that numbers the groups of rows for each invoice and then use that for the Print When expression in both the header and detail. To number the invoices you could Select Distinct a header field such as InvoiceNumber, set a relation from that into the report cursor and replace the report cursor's identifying field with RecNo("InvoiceNumbers").
Right - that is what I would normally do as well.. My problem is that I am trying to enhance some reports for an application developed by another party - so I don't have much control over the data created. I guess I was thinking there might be a way - within the report designer - to specify to alternate for each header (as opposed to record #, etc.).
