I am ashamed to say the governor of Illinois was recently on The Daily Show without realizing it is a parody. It wasn't until they asked him about being known as The Gay Governor (totally ficticious) that he started giving panicked looks to off-camera aides.

What's even scarier is none of his staff knew it's a parody when he agreed to go on. Or didn't tell him.
