While I understand the outsourcing of jobs from the U.S. is a reason for worry to U.S. programmers, we were talking about something completely different.
Our economic situation here is such, that many people here simply can't afford to buy a new computer every few years, even if a new computer "only" costs somewhere between 500 and 800 US$, depending on the configuration.
So, for some company in a developing country, running the latest and greatest Microsoft software may not be feasible, because - apart from the price of purchasing the software - a major hardware upgrade may be required.
