I'm not sure what to say about that. This guy helped write VFP, so I value his opinion. But I also value yours. And I don't know enough to argue one way or the other. All I know is he was showing us how to do things for real, not just giving a training example, so I'm as sure as I can be that he meant this is OK to do.

I specifically asked him about updatable views, and his opinion was not to use them. Using relations is how he said to do it. I'm going to try it because his idea "feels" better to me. If it crashes, you can say you told me so. :)
