I agree with Ed. This is reinventing the views (or just inventing before VFP). Views have definite superiority over relations needing less Aspirins for headaches. All old FP code were based on relations and many extra caution to prevent wrong updates, refreshes etc. Relations are not death and still an important part of xBase but I vote for views too.
BTW your gender was referring to "Y" I think (good "relation" to remember key).
