Sounds like there might be a difference in the default behavior of VFP9 vs. prior versions with regard to INDEX command.

Just wondering if the default behavior of VFP9 INDEX ON might be creating a CANDIDATE or PRIMARY index, which could result in the elimination of duplicate index values that might exist in your source table?
