The document stash find was diaried by someone at 08:18:26 AM PDT:

But they also focus on things like:

Also, the killing of Zarqawi was diaried many times over with the common point being that its a good thing but wont end the cluster. Hopefully it will. Here's one from a DKos person who appears to be over there, perhaps in the army in some capacity...

Finally, we killed the f*cker.

slothlax's diary :: ::
Abu Musab Al Zarqawi was an evil person. His death is nothing but a good thing. His role in the insurgency was big, but not overwhelming, there will be replacements. He was more of a coordinator for the jihadist element, which is not the biggest threat in Iraq right now. But he was the major backer of suicide bombers and head severings in the country and I don't care what anyone says, capture would have been a far less desirable goal than death. Look at Saddam. Now he's a one man circus with a spotlight. And his following is not nearly as widespread as someone like AMZ, who related to the international islamist terrorist movement.

I know there are plenty of others writing about this event, but it is a big deal and here in Iraq we are very happy. I wanted to come right down here and post as soon as I heard, but I was in the middle of an assignment. And just to let you know, the soldiers here are happy with the news but in no way under the delusion that this will end the insurgency or that someone will not replace this stain on humanity. We are just proud of a job well done (finally). Hopefully the prominance he (deservedly or not) has accumulated over the years will bring ordinary Iraqis around and convince them to cooperate with our forces. Many of them want us to stop the insurgents but their fear outweighs their willingness to help. Perhaps this will boost their confidence in our ability to protect them.

I am stationed in Iraq and I was in the S2/plans office when we heard the news, so I am only relaying a small number of opinions. I hope I did not give the impression that I speak for the entire US Army.

They also focus on things like photo ops when people post lampoons like The Daily Shows:

As for the President's agenda, Rob Corddry has the recap:

The president was here for five hours. The first fifteen minutes were spent with the new prime minister, then a quick power nap to sleep off jet lag. That took two hours. Quick chat with the troops, judged a local hummus cook-off and then... With an international flight, you kinda want to get to the airport two hours ahead. You got the check-in, security, duty free shopping. (He picked up a bottle of perfume for Laura---Ahmed Chalabi's Desperation. It's an intoxicating blend of Sunni and Shiite aroma. Smells awful.)

Just his being there for five hours makes a statement. It told the Iraqi people: "I'm with you. I stand behind you. And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm getting the f*ck out of here." ---The Daily Show
