I realize the everyone's situation is different. In the past, I have found that simple file sharing disables so much essential control over things... that it's one of the FIRST things I DISABLE after installing XP Pro. What I wish XP Pro supported was "simple resource sharing" (such as printers). When you consider that a cheapo small-office network print server has no authentication restrictions (it's just there and you print to it), it makes sense that XP Pro could provide the same amenities. We would actually use a network print server except that the printer is a multi-function inkjet that must be connected to the PC for full functionality.
