Jeff,

The only reason I can think of that Alt-F6 won't work is that Alt activates the system menu and then the F6 is viewed as a menu hot key (and you can't get the F keys to be hot keys). I would suggest using just the F6 as a menu Short Cut Key or using the Ctrl as the modifying key.

I would avoid the Alt key as much as possible because of its job in activating the menu system.
