You know, the funny thing is that I was able to set this up and use SQL Server Express without ODBC using C#.NET. No problem. But in my effort to set up an ODBC connection to use with VFP (could have been any other tool as well using ODBC), it seemed nigh to impossible.
I think you are correct in saying that there are some things that we do not understand about the Express version.
