>>The point is that there are scientists that dispute "global warming". They dispute the causes and effects. There are also scientists that say "so what"? Heck, they just found evidence of tropical algae in the artic. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/5034026.stm

>I've been a skeptic but have been coming around for some time now. I now do think there is a global warming happening and that people are to blame.

I think we're in the middle of an ice age and that the current warming trend is a minor uptick during the overall downward trend. I remember reading this years ago, I wish I could find the publication.

>Your links are both dated and in at least 1 case actually argue FOR the case of global warming.

I only skimmed the links after searching them. The point was that there are 10 pages of links from 1 quick search.

>Some scientists today like to take the counter position so they can get themselves into the media.

That's convienient. Anyone who disagrees with the crowd is just doing it to get on tv? My point was there are scientists who disagree. It is not settled scientific fact like the "global warming" crowd is trying to suggest.

>The fact is that NOW, as opposed to 3 or more years ago, the huge majority of scientists agree that there is something going on and that it is extremely dangerous to our future.

Of course there is something going on. There always is. The earth is either warming or cooling at all times. It always has been, hence the discovery of a tropical history in the artic. Hence the deserts with obvious signs of being ocean beds at one time.

>Yes, they could be wrong. But doesn't it just make good sense anyway to not be wasting energy and things regardless?

Depends on whose definition of waste we are using. My aunt believes its a waste of time to sleep more than 4 hours a night. :)

I refuse to buy into these constant attemps to panic us. Be it west nile, SARS, bird flu, ozone hole, global cooling, global warming, Y2K, yellow/orange/red terror alerts...
