I like your approach. For easier backup, I keep all the data that I need to back up on drive D: so it would be better to move the SQL database to a folder like SQLDATA on the D: drive. If I wanted to relocate my SQL Server database from a sub-folder of MSSQL.1 to another folder, do you suggest that I detach the database, copy it to a new location, and then attach it from there?
