It all about perspective,

You are obviously working on large corporate systems which will almost certainly be yelling for .Net/SQL because the business magazine acticles tell them to do so. In this case your skillset is determined/demanded by your employer/customers.

I, on the other hand, do not care to work for large companies or governments. My currunt Gig is 60 Users/25 Million sales company which is as large as I care to go. VFP is i good fit for us, we recently looked forward to our next generation (starting in about a year) and decided that VFP is still the best tool for us. We have not found anything we set out to do that we havn't been able to accomplish with VFP.

I personally think .Net is still one or two versions away from where I want to invest my time/energy to get involved with it and I forsee no problem keeping busy and earning a GREAT living using VFP.

>Part of my current "gig" is to integrate £400,000 of Systems Union "Sun Accounts" system, along with £80,000 of K2 Human Workflow Engine and £70,000 BizTalk Enterprise server into a £2,500,000 C#/SQL Server development. The QuickBooks arguments just doesn't figure in this type of corporate scenario - its chalk and cheese and in this type of environment, .NET is perfect. Irrespective of "local storage", VFP is unable to talk to/drive these kinds of applications. They are all geared up to use .NET as the "glue".
