i am trying to convert a report layout file to xml like this:

=CURSORTOXML('r_list_permissions1','xx')

=XMLTOCURSOR('xx','reports\r_list_permissions2')

I get a xml parse error: invalid at teh top level of document, line 1 position 1 xx

can that be done?

reason:
in a dialog which uses a report I want to chek if the report exists, if it does not create on from the embedded xml string
