i know that our top speed for internet connections here is 8mb, in the uk i have seen adds for 32. if you are getting 56 from the wireless then any speed bottleneck would be on the connection to the internet not your connection to your router. as far as i know windows will try to use both connections but you can specify one or the other using routing and remote access as far as i know. i have heard of some hardware people doing this on servers with 2 nic's but i have never dont it myself.

>>given that your internet connection will be less that either of these selecting one over the other will most likley not speed up your browsing. you can specify what connections to use, also you could turn off the wireless on a temp basis.

>>>I have a notebook connected (wired) to a Linksys router. The Linksys router is wireless as well. My notebook has a built-in wireless G card which picks up the router signal too. So on my system tray I see two icons indicating connection to the internet:
>>>1. Wireless at speed 54.0 Mbps
>>>2. 1394 Connection at speed 400 Mbps.
>>>
>>>Which one of the two my notebook is using when I am browsing the web or emailing?
>>>
>>>Is there a way to "force" the notebook to use the wired connection (obviously it is faster) without disabling the wireless?
>>>
>>>Thank you in advance for any input or any suggestions.
