I am designing a report using multiple detail bands. These bands include optional data and their objects are set to only print when certain conditions are true and to "remove line if blank."

My goal is that the optional detail bands disappear if no relevenat data exists. I have been careful to make sure that the whole detail band has objects that are suppressed if the "print when" conditions are not met.

This setup works fine and the bands are removed as expected. However, the detail 1 band, which always has data to print, is breaking to the next page when there's still plenty of room left on the page. The "start detail set on next page" is set to 0.00 for this band and so I can't figure why it is breaking erratically.

Is there a way to control this page break behavior more explicitly? Or, am I mising something in the report setup? Or, am I stuck??
