I am not sure what you mean with "incoming new documents", so perhaps the following is not exactly what you are looking for. Anyway, if you change the template "normal.dot", any new documents you create (with the "New" button) will "inherit" the change.
Similarly, you can have additional templates for specific purposes; e.g., a special template for a specific client. In this case, you can create a new document based on the desired template.
