>>>Hi All. I'm trying to find the width of the vertial scroll bar region. SYSMETRIC(5) gives me the width of the arrow of the vertical scroll bar. What gives me the width of the scroll bar area itself (which is wider than just the arrow).

>ha ha! OK, I took the GetSystemMetrics() api from Anatoliy and compared to SYSMETRIC(5) and indeed they are the same. In my defence - (a) on my laptop screen the grid scroll arrow doesnt look like its exactly the same width as the scroll area itself, and (b) why does the help say "width of the scroll arrows" rather than just "vertical scroll bar width" :)

I see, help is a little confusing. Generally you need to add sysmetric(10) for the extra 1 pixel (or *2 - frame surrounding grid).
