I'll ignore your ranting for your own sake. As a parting shot, just remember it takes more than three months to evaluate .NET.
>Man, you are real peace of work!
>I let u get away first time when responding in simillar
>ubnoxcious, cynic, belittling way to me, but now you really got me pi**ed.
>
>Who the h*ll think you are ?!?
>
>Okay, u r getting on very well with NET , so what ?
>You are dealing with few millions bucks worth of platform - so what ?
>Everybody else does NET, so what ?
>
>What do you know about business case of Bob's boss, or OP, or me, or any other guy here on UT , so you can give impartial opinion directly form
>your office chair ?

>NET/SQL is simply (in my opinion) over-expensive platform in every possible way. At this point of time, it wld cost us (and meny other businesses ) an arm & leg to convert, bringing nothing spectacular to justify that cost and risk. If NET/SQL was god given, it wld come to all of us - naturally.
>As a natural solution - not as threat. Just like Fox did. Without anybody breaking your ears & nervs about it. Who pushed for dbase/clipper or Fox back then ??
>
>Frm the other side ;
>Why purchasing new car if you already drive porsh?
>Even Toyota Corrola is just fine if that is all you need / can afford.
>Why invest all bunch of money NOW for something that you just *MIGHT* need ?
>(But also you might not)
>
>Should I suggest my boss 400.000 - $$$$$$$ USD wort of IT investments,
>converting our production systems to NET, just for sake of it, so I can feel good about me, myself & I?!?
>Of course not.
>
>Will keep of course my eyes/ears open, having often NET whitepappers as evening literature, readign threads/blogs here and there, but for all daily work / food on the table - I'll still keep VFP in my code window.
>
>To OP;
>If someone pay/request NET/SQL or nothing - then you will have your
>business case (and funding) for your NET research.
>Otherwise you just waisted 3 months for nothing.
