I once developed a treeview which used the same menu.dbf as my table-driven menu system, and any node on it would either branch out, or do something (run a form, run a prg, do a command). Visually, it occupied a pane on the left side of the app's window.

The trouble with it may come if it gets covered by other windows the app may open. Today, that can be solved by putting it into a form docked left.
