Hi Rakesh,

I always believe that company need to enhance their skills for future opportunities, What if you get a new project which is bigger than your current turnover. Under those circumstances you may need to re-think again about your expertise which is only in Packaged Accounting Software.

Availability of trained person in .NET? the question is are they really capable to execute the job in the best of its way and if they are "THE EXPERTS" they would always cost great bucks and difficult to retain. Will your company be able to judge them in their field if your company dont have those skill sets.

Once your classes are ready you would need max of two months to train somebody on VFP and they can get you moving with better ROI.

You can always enhance your skillsets on .NET and keep .NET optio open for your future. For this project my statement would remain the same. VFP is ideal to provide you with better ROI.

>>But i would recommend VFP9 as solution to your existing problem.
>>Your client would not be paying for the time and money you gonna invest on .NET learning and development, they just need their software working at the least cost ( considering Indian Scenario ). You should not be surprised and amazed if the same client says that DOS software was better than your .NET developed software.
>>
>>Buying any existing .NET framework would surely give you a lead but would put you in constraint of the framework and you would never be able to explore the potential of what .NET can do for you. With the current situation it would be difficult for your company to decide which framework is better or compare frameworks.

>>
>>To Conclude,
>>A very few selected people of your organization could explore .NET with ease of time and pace. VFP9 would take a considerably small amount of time to learn and get you moving. At any given point you would find VFP project getting completed faster with the situation you are in.
