Hi Tom,

>
>The Administration has given a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq on several occasions.
>
>Several members of the Bush administration as well as top Army/Marine Corp Brass for the last two years (as recently as January 2006) have stated it would take ten years before we could withdraw our troops. I would like to know if in five years it will still be an additional ten years?

Yeah, but, I can't believe they meant a definitive 10 years, eg, X date and X time. I have to see that in context.

>Another statement from the Administration has been if the Iraqi government tells us to leave then we will leave. Other statements come to mind about the number of “trained Iraqi Security forces”.

Yup, I'm aware of the statement. But that's not timestable based. Hey, look, if the Iraqis said "Go away, we can handle it now" and they could then that's a win, baby!

>Bush stated more than six months ago that over 200,000 trained Iraqi Security force members were ready to defend Iraq. At the same time the top general in Iraq stated that only 500 of them were trained and able to enter the field. I guess you believe what you want. Too bad there are so many stories. Who do you believe? You believe whom you wish.

Honestly, who can believe what? I try to stay objective in these matters.
