Hi Metin

>Hi Terry,

>I'm just about to watch V for Vendetta. My friend sent me an article about this film. Some of things came me so interesting. I'm just curious if these are true:
>
>-Are you celebrating punishment of a man named "Guy Fawkes" every 5 november?

Yes. 500 years ago there was a "Gunpowder plot" where Guy Falkes and his associates planted many barrels of explosive under parliament (not, of course, the present building). He was caught and "hung, drawn and quartered". Ever since we've celebrated this night with fireworks, bonfires (on which they burn a "Guy" - an effigy of Falkes). It's like our 4th July.

>-Are you looking for every cellar before every opening of English parliament (If it's true, so funny. :)) )

I expect there ARE many security checks all over nowadays, esp. due to Al Qaida and esp after 7/7. After all, the IRA DID succeed in blowing up part of Parliament back uin the 70s. So what's so amusing about the concept?

>-In that article mentioned about an english sandwich; "Eggie in the basket" as a meal has political means. Why it has political means?

Never heard of the sandwich and have no idea of political connotation.

>Are you watched that film? It seem so interesting film...

Sorry, I haven't. I've heard about it and I believe HP DOES get blown up, in the clip I've seen.
