The paper by Jonathan West referenced in the link you sent did provide the solution. In it he states, "If you use the Word constants when trying to set the paper trays for these printers, in most cases absolutely nothing will happen..." That certainly turned out to be the case. The TrayID turned out to be 1. Assigning it directly to the DefaultTrayID property worked even though assigning the wdPrinterUpperBin constant holding a value of 1 did not work. Earlier in the paper he also states, "In Word VBA, dealing with paper trays is a horrible mess. " I couldn't agree more.
