Oh sorry to hear that. Side is nice but certainly not a 'quiet fishing village'. They might take you to hundreths of quiet (resting with highly natural beauty) places but Side is not one of them. I think it's agent's fault because I believe they knew Side very well.
September is the best time I think to visit coastal places in Turkey. In summer time northern coast is much better (cool and lovely forest/sea).
