The scientific evidence for global warming is quite clear; what is debatable is merely the exact amount of the effect, how irreversible it is, etc.
It seems, though, that some politicians will deny any scientific evidence, if it suits their (very short-term and short-sighted) purposes. Why, those same polititians might even step up and claim that there is no evidence whatsoever that complex life forms evolved out of simpler ones. Just to take a purely hypothetical example.
