I doubt this had anything to do with Powell, other then he was duped into playing along. I think if anything, it was a calculated move to show the world that it wasn't just a neocon calling for an Iraqi invasion.

I do believe Larry Wilkerson's comments in the PBS documentary that Powell was sickened as the truth was revealed and each of his main talking points were shown to be invalid.

I also think Dan is unwittingly playing the neocon game. Much like when they leaked a story to the NY Times, then Rice comes on the sunday morning talk shows to show how something must be true, because the NY Times reported it.
