Kevin,

That worked great, but there is a wrinkle, I also need to add a new record. Your solution works fine for existing records, but how can I use it to add a new record to the datatable?

TIA

I have the details in a GridView and want to edit the information in a series of input controls populated from the GridView datatable having the detail information returned to the GridView database when I select another record or click the Save button

The easiest way to get the data back into the GridView is to re-retrieve the data.
