I used to love running. Well, not the first two miles, but the next six were great. Unfortunately, diabetes, heart conditions and my knees all voted against it. Now a round of golf and the occassional batting around of a tennis ball is about as active as I can get.
>It's been years since I did any running to speak of but I haven't forgotten that it isn't all drudgery and pain. The so-called "runner's high" really exists. As far as Jim Fixx, he had serious heart problems before he took up running. It probably lengthened his life, not shortened it. The health risks of running are minimal compared to those of being overweight and sedentary.
