Evelyn;
I have been working for a number of years and have seen a new system of tracking employee performance introduced each year regardless of what company I have worked for. My experience is that the HR department dictates what indicators are of interest regarding employee performance.
You might list the type of business and a few benchmarks that would aid others in offering suggestions for your project. Each industry has its own unique language and requirements.
One suggestion for an employee performance system is to not over do it. Such a system should benefit the employee as well as the company. You could end up micromanaging employees and have a revolution on your hands! :)
One place where I worked required you to account for each 6 minute increment of your work day, using a “special computer program”. Corporate headquarters thought it was great! That was one of the reasons so many of us quit! :)
