Thanks, I'll have to look at your code through a C2VB translator and maybe try it out.

I was looking for a solution to this and there were two possible answers:

application.doevents
me.txtWhatever.refresh()

and neither of these worked. Maybe it has something to do the the mm controls, I don't know. But the me.txtWhatever.focus() sure does work. It has something to do with the focus leaving the control. In FoxPro 2.6 this would have been a validation event which would have written the text to a variable in my own code.
