Although I'm not a fan of a lot of MS books, i did learn a great deal from MS Visual FoxPro 6.0 Programmer's Guide. At the time I started reading it, my knowledge was very very limited. As usual, it is limited in that it covers 6.0 (and we're now on 9.0), but for learning the basics, it really helped me. It covers even some programming basics (which helped me), and does a lot with classes as well in the early chapters. Forms, tables, debugging, and other features are covered later on.

Even before I had the book, I was reading the chapters from it on the MSDN disk that came with VFP 6.0. At the time, I didn't even know what a database was. That disc taught me a lot.

I am not sure if you can still get it, but the ISBN is 1572318686.

I have not looked at the hacker's series so they maybe better than this one. I have liked some of the other books from Hentzenwerke once I had more knowledge on the subject.

Good Luck,

Paul
