I don't know if this will help, but in the latest available download for BOL2005...

...under the requirements, it says that BOL 2005 requires the .NET 2.0 framework and IE 6.0 SP1.

If you don't have the 2.0 .NET runtime installed, that "might" explain why you can't read it, but Dmitry can.
